"Our theatrical packages are designed
with your success in mind"- Monica Moore

So you want your kid to do well at School?

Emotional Status of Monica Moore: Infuriated, frustrated, annoyed, fed up, exasperated,

irritated… to name but a few of the adjectives that currently describe how I’m feeling.

Here’s why…

I absolutely cannot understand  in today’s modern world when we  NEED the skills

learned by performing arts, many schools are reducing or cutting their programmes!

I’m also frustrated that the Performing Arts need to PROVE themselves time and time again!

Ok, taking deep breaths and trying to calm down…

SO…here’s an outline of the main reasons why we MUST support performing arts.

I’ve made it short and to the point and will be writing more on this later…

WHY is the necessity of Performing Arts Education not obvious??

Our world is made up of interaction, encounters, interpretation, response, reflection, personal growth and creativity of thought.

Exposure to these experiences creates opportunities to:

Improve

Develop a personal sense of self

Develop healthy relationships and respect for others

Experience the joy of meaningful thought and ideas

These things can’t be anything but GOOD for the human race.

                                                  Right?

                                              RIGHT!!

Let’s take a look at our brains, cognitive function and what it affects:

Perception

Memory

Attention

Orientation

Visuospatial Skills

Executive functions (the skills that help you to get things done)

Language development

And then there’s Social Cognition which is how we process, store and apply information about others

There’s the development of interpersonal and multidisciplinary dimensions.

Now….catch THIS!…

ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE INFUSED IN PERFORMING ARTS EDUCATION
